Virtual Coffee Date (January 2017)

It is January 2017, and time for another Virtual Coffee Date.  Go ahead and grab a hot beverage, and I will tell you what has been happening.

If we were having coffee right now, I would tell you that my trip to see my family was fairly successful.  I didn’t have any seizures, and there were no trips to the ER.  I think it helped to set up an appointment with my neurologist before my flight, so I knew what my depakote level was before leaving.  The weather cooperated most of the time.  In previous years, snow storms were a problem.

If we were having coffee right now, I would tell you that I got into a political argument with my dad.  We have different points of view, and his reality is different from mine.  After a few minutes, I just stopped and agreed to disagree.

If we were having coffee right now, I would tell you that I am currently teaching an online science course.  It is taking up a bit more of my time than I thought, but I guess that happens with all new jobs.  I have had a few students withdraw already and it is making me feel bad.  I try not to take it personally, but am not succeeding.

If we were having coffee right now, I would tell you that my courses at my local college are about ready to start.  They are similar subjects that I have taught before, so I am not anticipating any trouble.  My first class is tomorrow.  I will make sure to let you know what my first impressions are.  Many times first impressions are incorrect ones.

If we were having coffee right now, I would tell you that I have thinking of changing my blog a little.  However, I am not sure in what direction to go in.

If we were having coffee right now, I would ask you how your holiday season went.  How did it go?
